Our VSR team member Sebastian Heil gave a talk on Smart Energy Systems and Automation - A Web Engineering Perspective at the Indo-German Science and Technology Centre Funded Bilateral Workshop: Information-centric Networks for Resilient Smart Urban Infrastructure held at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee - Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior, India.

We are happy to announce that we help building trustworthy and green AI in the context of the EU funded ENFIELD project!

As a part of the Excellence Alliance "European Lighthouse to Manifest Trustworthy and Green AI" (ENFIELD) , our VSR professorship collaborates with over 30 other research institutions of 18 different countries to work towards the goal of human-centered and trustworthy AI.

We are pleased to announce that we are part of the TRR HYP*MOL!

The TRR HYP*MOL spans across many different universities with a research focus on hyperpolarization in molecular systems, starting in October 2023.

As a service project within the TRR, our VSR professorship establishes non-invasive infrastructure for Research Data Management suitable for interdisciplinary and cross domain research.

Our VSR team member Valentin Siegert participated at the International Conference on Web Intelligence and Intelligent Agent Technology 2022 and presented our latest research findings on the topic of ConTED: Towards Content Trust for the Decentralized Web in the International Workshop on Data Analytics on Social Media (DASM’22).

Our VSR team member Sebastian Heil participated in the HCI International Conference 2022 and presented our latest research findings on the topic of Benchmarking Neural Networks-Based Approaches for Predicting Visual Perception of User Interfaces in the "AI-assisted Evaluation of UX Aspects in the Development Process" session.

Our VSR team member Sebastian Heil participated in the International Conference on Web Engineering 2022 and presented our latest research findings on the topic of We Don’t Need No Real Users?! Surveying the Adoption of User-less Automation Tools by UI Design Practitioners in the "Web User Interfaces" session.

We are very happy and proud to announce, that our research on "Enhancement of AI-based Implementation using a One-Stage Detector Algorithm for the Detection of Counterfeit Products" received special recognition through an Outstanding Paper award at the 20th International Conference on e-Society 2022. Congratulations to our VSR authors Eduard Daoud, Nabil Khalil and Martin Gaedke!

We are happy to announce that our external PhD student Markus Ullrich successfully defended his PhD thesis "Performance Modelling for Optimized Resource Management and Application Deployment in Cloud Environments" on 10th of February 2022.

We congratulate Markus for his achievement and wish him all the best for his future.

We are very happy and proud to announce, that VSR has successfully reached the final third milestone and completed the IoTxKG project in the context of AI4EU. Within the last six months, our team was working as a solution provider for the KE4WoT challenge, investigating novel AI-driven models for knowledge extraction in the Web of Things domain. We designed a method to identify and represent core concepts which we successfully applied to Ontologies from the Smart Home, Smart Weather, Smart Transportation and Smart Energy domains and validated it with domain experts. Our research has contributed to the advancement of the European AI on Demand platform, AI4EU (https://www.ai4europe.eu/), and our models are available via the AI4EU Experiments marketplace (https://aiexp.ai4europe.eu/#/marketPlace). Stay tuned for further details about our NLP-based clustering models and interactive concept visualizations to be published in 2022.
